Nicole Sheffield is the Chief Executive Officer of NewsLifeMedia, a wholly owned business of News Corp Australia, where she runs a multi-million dollar media business with a portfolio of some of the most powerful and trusted brands in the country – Taste.com.au, Donna Hay, Vogue, GQ, Body+Soul, Kidspot.com.au and Australia’s number one news source, News.com.au. In addition to this role Nicole sits on the advisory board of Acquire Learning and is a member of and Chair of Marketing and Communications of Chief Executive Women (CEW). She has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (Macquarie University) and a Masters of Business (UTS). With a wealth of experience across a broad range of industries Nicole joined News from Foxtel’s LifeStyle Channels group where she was General Manager for four years. Before television Nicole spent seven years in publishing at Seven West Media’s Pacific Magazines where she held several senior executive roles and was instrumental in the early adoption of digital; and prior to this she worked in the multimedia division of Telstra.
Melani comes to the IAB with years of administration and event experience. Prior to taking on the role at the IAB, Melani was events coordinator at AIMIA. Mel brings her passion for digital marketing and events to the team and is an essential part of helping IAB achieve its objectives through the implementation of our training and certification programs.
Christian is the Director of Content for IAB Australia, bringing 15 years of media experience to the production of IAB’s written and graphic content. Christian has varied experience in the research, writing, editing, design and production of news and magazine publications, as well as years of digital knowledge garnered from varied staff and freelance roles as a content creator, freelance writer and digital producer, including a year as a digital producer for IAB.
Having spent a good amount of time living and working overseas, Christian has been an editor and writer at daily news publications, worked in publishing and sales and has been a political campaign manager at the local and county level in the U.S.
Within Christian’s purview at the IAB is researching our positions and policies and clear articulation of those to members and media, the creation of company materials, papers, reports and articles, shooting and creating video content, managing our blog, and the management and maintenance of IAB’s digital properties.
Nina joined the IAB Australia team in early 2012, bringing more than ten years’ experience in international event management and digital media and marketing. Prior to arriving in Sydney, Nina spent several years as the Senior Events Manager at IAB UK in London. Nina started her media career at ZenithOptimedia in London, moved on to the role of European Marketing Communications Manager at Publicitas and upon arrival in Australia, worked as the Head of Events at Australian Institute of Management NSW.
Her role is to develop and drive the IAB events, training and certification programs to support IAB’s objectives and to drive IAB's marketing and day to day operations.
Vijay brings 23 years of marketing and digital experience to the role CEO at IAB Australia. He will build a new strategy for the IAB that champions digital for its members.
Vijay started out at Unilever, launching new products for the Dove brand, and moved into marketing roles in media at both Capital Radio (UK's biggest commercial radio) and then IPC (UK’s biggest magazine group). Vijay then moved into digital start-ups as marketing director at Shazam and lastminute.com where he grew both brands and struck partnership deals with companies like Coca Cola & Amazon, as well as launching new products. He went on to work with Castrol and BlackBerry in European roles before working out of the global HQ in Amsterdam for Philips where he grew a new division called digital innovation. Vijay and his family eventually landed in Sydney where he worked as Chief Digital Officer at Southern Cross Austereo and oversaw a digital transformation agenda for the CEO.
Ed Harrison joined Yahoo7 as the CEO following 19 years experience working with leading global, European and Australian media companies. Ed joined Yahoo7 from Fairfax Media where he held the role of Group Sales Director. Prior to his most recent role, Ed was Commercial Director, Fairfax Digital and the General Manager of JCDecaux Australia. Ed holds qualifications in Economic and Political Development from the University of Exeter, has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is a current board member of the IAB.
Rebecca is the Director of Media Mobility at Telstra. Before being appointed to her current role, Rebecca was the Director of 9Now for Nine Entertainment Co., directing the 9Jumpin product and content teams. She has also worked at ninemsn as Director of Convergence and Director of Product Innovation. Prior to that she worked at ACP Magazines overseeing the ACP masthead digital properties along with ninemsn food, health and beauty products, as well as running the tablet and smartphone audience strategies and implementations. Rebecca is also a member of the Board of Directors at 2realise, supporting young people to improve their wellbeing, educational and employment outcomes.
Anthony is currently Commercial Director at Carsales.com Ltd and has an MBA in Strategic Marketing (University of Hull, UK). Anthony has held a number of senior roles in the online advertising industry since moving to Australia in 1998, including at BMCMedia.com (pre-Telstra) and DoubleClick (pre-Google) and was a co-founder of PostClick Pty Ltd in 2001. Prior to joining Carsales.com Ltd in late 2008, Anthony was General Manager of Sensis Digital Marketing Services (with P&L responsibility for MediaSmart) and was a board member of Adstream Pty Ltd. Across his career Anthony has gained extensive experience in media, marketing and sales in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. He is currently responsible for the MediaMotive business within Carsales.com Ltd and sits on the executive leadership team.
Jonas joined REA Group from the UK as Head of Media in 2012. His digital career began in 1999 when he joined a start-up financial publisher with only three people, which eight years later had grown to over 100 staff. In 2007 Jonas founded and launched WebAds UK, a specialist business and finance digital ad-sales house representing publishers exclusively as a niche high-net-worth proposition. After successfully growing and driving this smaller business to profitability, Jonas was head-hunted to run the Ad Operations and Publisher Solutions teams at Hi-Media, Europe’s largest independent ad network with access to more than 150m unique users. Prior to joining REA, Jonas worked at Videology in the UK as the Director of Product Management.
As Industry Leader for Agency Sales, Development and Display Activation at Google AU/NZ, Lisa is charged with driving media and creative agency engagement across the full suite of Google media solutions. A dynamic and entrepreneurial senior leadership executive with over 19 years experience across media, entertainment, retail, and travel industries. Her previous roles span organisations such as News Limited, Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment, Qantas Holidays, Lend Lease and Village Roadshow.
