IAB Australia is looking for an experienced content and design lead to produce materials that ensure our members and broader media & marketing community are up to date with IAB outputs, events and industry trends. The ideal candidate will have experience &/or strong interest in the media and advertising industry.

 As part of a small but passionate team, the Content Manager will drive and direct the IAB’s external image including website, social, research reports, videos, written pieces for members and trade press. The role requires someone with experience with written communications (journalism or comms background), design and website management.

This role will give the right candidate the opportunity to be at the heart of the digital advertising industry and make a huge impact on our 150 member organisations as well as the perception and understanding of digital advertising in the broader market. The digital advertising community looks to the IAB to provide independent guidance, research, events and education – communicating in a clear, effective, inclusive and inspiring manner is at the core of the Content Manager’s remit.

This is a full-time position based in Sydney, though a 4 day a week flexible arrangement may be possible for the right candidate.

BRIEF

The Content Manager’s responsibility is produce content that is engaging and useful for a variety of target trade audiences. This is in support of the IAB mission and strategy. The content manager will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the member, tech and research leads, to create and distribute content to achieve desired goals.

THE ROLE

  • Create content that promotes IAB events, research, including work done by IAB Australia Councils and work groups including finding new & effective ways of communicating what can be technical and complex content
  • Create content that conveys to both members and the digital industry the value of IAB Australia’s work.
  • Create effective graphic and video content for IAB Australia.
  • Professionally represent the IAB at seminars and events
  • Manage the day-to-day content of the IAB Australia website (www.iabaustralia.com.au)
  • Be responsible for the creation of social media content (both graphic and written) and manage IAB Australia’s social media in line with IAB Australia’s social strategy to meet desired goals.
  • Support other functions with content, marketing and distribution support as required.
  • Keep up to date with general industry and member news via trade press, podcasts, events etc..

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Content

  • Support other IAB functions with content – ie., research, technology, councils, events etc.
  • Have creative input and manage production for consistent delivery of content for key products, ie., playbooks, research, studies etc.
  • Update the IAB website on a daily basis based on future and current projects, as they occur and are planned, to ensure all information therein is current and up-to-date.
  • Create & curate infographics and other graphic content for IAB Australia across all key functions.
  • Create & curate short-form videos to represent IAB work and events, including, but not limited to, interviews with IAB members and digital companies.
  • Design and edit publications/products from IAB Councils and Working Groups as required to a pre-agreed template.
  • Create content that promotes the value of IAB Australia to prospective members.
  • Curate IAB newsletter as directed on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with the production of web pages and other digital products as required.

Social

  • Brainstorm with senior staff and have input into the IAB’s social media strategy.
  • Create Content in line with IAB’s social media strategy.
  • Manage the daily updates to IAB social media platforms in an autonomous fashion and as directed by senior staff.

Web/Technical

  • Manage all aspects of the IAB Australia website, ensuring content on the site is up to date and relevant to members and the wider digital industry.

Internal Relationships

  • Takes instruction from the CEO
  • Coordinate with other IAB staff on the creation of Internal and external content for events, research, memberships and marketing as required.

External Relationships

  • Close working relationship with the IAB’s external PR consultancy
  • Liaise with members and stakeholders in the production of above content, with the aim of promoting the IAB, its members and the industry.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing/content/comms roles.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Website management experience (frontend maintenance and backend CMS and CRM experience).
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Video and audio editing (in Adobe suite).
  • Strong Graphic design skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Social media management
  • Strong knowledge of Google analytics and experience creating reports to inform strategy.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to carry out duties autonomously, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for the media industry and an understanding of the Australian media landscape.
