Vijay has a 24-year history in marketing, digital marketing & innovation. He started his career at Unilever, before moving to Dove as a brand manager. He then ran marketing for UK’s biggest commercial radio station, Global Radio. He then moved into start-up, becoming Shazam’s first marketing director, creating the brand and product before movin...g to lastminute.com to work for the founders where he grew market share. His recent years include BP/Castrol, BlackBerry and Philips in international digital & innovation roles. Vijay moved to Australia 2 years ago to join Southern Cross Austereo as Chief Digital Officer, then joining IAB Australia as CEO in July 2016. I first came across the term “programmatic” in 2014, working at Philips global HQ in digital innovation. I shared a conference platform where I talked about hackathons, MVPs and bringing an agile approach to marketing. The guy I shared the platform with talked about programmatic. He was a former colleague from Capital Radio, then head of sales of a company called The Exchange Lab. They were one of the first programmatic companies I came across (and were acquired by GroupM in 2016).
