AD Tech Q&A: Consumer privacy, trust and a transparent value exchange

There has recently been a global call-to-action for stakeholders across the digital supply chain to re-think and re-architect digital marketing to support core industry use cases, while still balancing consumer privacy and personalisation.

Core to this project and to the success of digital marketing moving forwards is consumer privacy and the heightened emphasis on establishing genuine trust with users. The industry is now increasingly aware that there has to be a transparent value exchange online with people moving forwards and everyone must respect the end user’s privacy and the privileged access to consumer data through responsible and transparent practices.

A list of local and global initiatives, IAB Tech Lab standards and education pieces that can aid the transparency of the digital supply chain. In order to ensure that any industry standards can work effectively, wide scale adoption is necessary, and persistent ongoing awareness, support and education of all sides of the advertising ecosystem (media owners, platforms, ad-tech, agencies and advertisers) is essential.

IAB expands Board

23rd April, 2020 - Sydney: IAB Australia is expanding its Board to provide greater industry representation, announcing today that the chair of its Executive Tech Council (ETC) will now be represented on the Board.  Rohan Creasey, Country Manager ANZ for Rubicon Project who has been the Chair of ETC since June 2019, will be the first representative, taking up the position from April 2020.   

Native Advertising: Best Practices and Local Examples

With over 20 years' experience in online media, Gai brings extensive industry knowledge, project management and research expertise. Nominated as CEO in 2018, Gai also spent many years as the Director of Research at IAB Australia. Her expertise in research and measurement positions her pefectly to drive the IAB, and helps push IAB's programs to stimulate online and mobile display as well as search investment by standardising and simplifying online audience and media measurement. She also chairs the IAB Australia Measurement Council, and leads the IAB councils in their measurement and research projects. Among others, her previous roles include General Manager of Audience Insights and Research at Fairfax Media, Insights Manager at ninemsn, Programmes Manager at IAB Australia and VP - Research and Audience Measurement at Nielsen Online.
