IAB TECH LAB RELEASES VAST 4.1 FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

Critical Updates to the Digital Video Ad Serving Template Include Support for Improved Ad Verification, Ad Creative Measurement, and Server-Side Ad Insertion & Integration of Audio Advertising

NEW YORK, NY (June 14, 2018) – The IAB Technology Laboratory has released VAST 4.1 for public comment, featuring significant advancements to the digital video ad serving template. Improved verification will allow for support within non-VPAID (Video Player-Ad Interface Definition) architecture, while also permitting VAST 4.1 to align with the Open Measurement Interface Definition (OMID) to better measure viewability of video ads on web. Upgrades for server-side ad insertion and the integration of DAAST (Digital Audio Ad Serving Template) are also key elements of the proposed specification.

General Display advertising steals back marketers’ hearts in Q1 2018

King will serve as Chair until News Corp’s Board Chair tenure ends in September 2018. He replaces outgoing Chair Nicole Sheffield, who announced her resignation from News Corp Australia in February this year.

IAB Tech Lab releases Open Measurement Software Development Kit for market adoption & launches compliance program to facilitate its proper use

NEW YORK, NY (April 10, 2018) – The IAB Technology Laboratory today released its Open Measurement Software Development Kit (OM SDK), a set of tools designed to seamlessly facilitate third-party viewability and verification measurement for ads served in mobile app environments—without various measurement provider SDKs and systems previously required. Market adoption of the OM SDK will support scaling in-app measurement, increase confidence and flexibility for buyers, and consolidate fragmented inventory. Major app publishers and ad SDK providers, as well as third-party measurement/verification providers tested the OM SDK in a limited release period that kicked off in October 2017 to ensure that it is fully functional and ready for industry-wide use.

Sydney, March 2018: Australian online advertising expenditure continues to grow, recording a seven percent year-over-year increase with total revenue edging to $7.9 billion for the full year according to the IAB/PwC Online Advertising Expenditure Report.  All categories experienced growth with classified advertising leading the way at 15 percent year-on-year growth to reach $1.5 billion in 2017 thanks to strong local companies including REA Group, Carsales.com and Seek. Real Estate remains the leading segment in classifieds, followed by Recruitment and Automotive.
