CY2018 Total Market Data | Video Ad-Vantage Event | Californian Privacy Act

Dear IAB Community,

We have a bucket load of new industry information as well as some inspiring events highlighted in this month’s newsletter. The total ad market data for CY2018 was just released by CEASA showing that digital advertising has increased its share of the market from 50.7% in 2017 to 53.2% in 2018, with digital video alone representing 8% of all media dollars. This investment is driven by marketers reinvesting and people spending more time with digital media – in January people spent just shy of 100 hours online on their phones, tablets & desktops with additional consumption via CTV by 5.2 million people daily. Get the latest on these consumer trends in both the Device Ownership Report and the IAB/Nielsen Digital Landscape.

Next week our Video Council will be showcasing creative, storytelling and video audiences at our Video Ad-Vantage event with presenters from Westpac, Johnson & Johnson, Blackmores, 20th Century Fox, Google, Twitter, Nine, Unruly & Publicis. It is going to be an amazing event and demand is high with limited tickets. More information and ticket reservations can be made on the IAB website.

IAB Australia members have a fabulous opportunity to hear directly from the IAB in Washington on the new Californian privacy act (CCPA) and the broader U.S. privacy landscape, and hear about the implications for the Global Network of IABs and their member companies. The webinar is at a rather unfriendly time for Australians but if you register you will get sent a link to the recording. Note that you must be an IAB member to register for this.

The call for papers for the MeasureUp conference close in 10 days so hone your pitch and get it through to us. We already have some interesting content coming through but want to be dazzled with new approaches for media and advertising effectiveness.

Make sure you are following us on LinkedIn and Twitter as we have another 4-5 initiatives that we are extremely close to launching. As always keep us up to date with your news as the IAB is here to help support, promote and improve our industry.
