November 22, 2012: Fairfax Metro Media today announced the appointment of Y (eds: pronounced "ee") Lassoued as Head of Mobile Strategy.

Reporting to Director of Mobile, Metro Media, Rick Gleave, Y Lassoued's primary responsibilities will be to further develop Fairfax's product offering in mobile and tablet and to take advantage of commercial growth opportunities while ensuring alignment with Fairfax's web and print strategies.

"Y Lassoued brings with her an impressive track record of working in the mobile industry across marketing, advertising, retail and sales roles both in Australia and overseas," Gleave said.

Gleave added that Y Lassoued's appointment was part of Fairfax's ongoing commitment to investing in top talent to cement the company's position at the forefront of the mobile market in this country.

Y Lassoued joins Fairfax from leading Australian integrated mobile and digital communications company Mobile Embrace, where she headed up business solutions, and was responsible for implementing strategic direction and new business development.

During her career she has held roles at Microsoft, Virgin and Telefonica O2, and has been involved with brokering mobile deals with brands including Xbox, Sony, Disney Peugeot, Volkswagen and the UK Government.
